Summer Quilt

It wasn't on the first half of my 2010 list, but I had to make this quilt. It only took me a few hours to cut out the pieces and about two hours to sew it together.

I am SO happy with it. This is the fabric that I won here . Since the colors were so rich and dark I put white with them to make them pop. I think it turned out great. I can't wait to get it quilted and binded.

It's a bad picture, but it's cold and windy outside.

My daughter can't wait to use it on her bed. I told her it will be a summer quilt. I'm going to put a thinner batting in the middle and it's not full sized. If you've ever been to Oklahoma in the summer, you know there's only so much an air conditioner can do so thin is key!

Help me name this quilt. Under the Sea just doesn't fit to me. What do you think??

Oh I love it--and I love a project that come together so quickly!
I am so terrible with naming quilts, the best I could do is summer days. Good luck, I can't wait to see it finished.

Oh, thank you Amber! It's funny because many people (frineds, family, bloggies, etc.) comment on my productivity and time management skills, but I rarely feel that I'm getting enough done! Kinda crazy!

I'm loving this quilt you made for your daughter; Heather Ross is awesome! Hmmm, what about something like "Underwater Bliss" (incorporates both the underwater aspect and part of your blog name)? I'm not too creative when it comes to naming quilt patterns, I always end up naming mine after the people they were made for, teehee!

Love your quilt - those colors look so good together!
I am a big Heather Ross fan, and this is a great way to display those pretty prints...
Sorry, no good ideas for a name.

Thank you for your nice visit, and happy quilting the pretty top!

Great job....I've said it once, I'll say it again....I NEED TO LEARN TO SEW!

As for names...Neptune?? Maybe that's not girly enough for your little girl? Just popped in my head when I saw the prints.
